Side Note: Brian almost got hit by a truck by walking backwards into the street trying to take this picture of me, so if you see panic in my eyes its not from fear of gentrification.

My great grandma lived 110 years on pasta in Italy. Get over your fear of carbs.

Jamie and I tried out chef Ken Vedrinski’s quaint Italian eatery on the outskirts of downtown and were pleasantly surprised. The place succeeds at combining classic Italian fare with some of Charleston's best seafood. We had the following (it sounds better in Italian): 1) some type of cauliflower and poached egg combination, 2) grilled octopus, 3) fresh mozzarella, 4) pasta with scallops, and 5) grouper. The pasta is made fresh daily, the seafood was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was unassuming but accentuated the flavor of the seafood. Our waiter, Scott, was friendly and knowledgeable and suggested a damn good wine. Lastly, the check didn't give me a stroke. Trattoria Lucca gets four thumbs up from me and Jamie.
