Taco Spot - A spot with tacos

This week we checked out The Taco Spot, located in West Ashley. My brother was in town from Boston so I wanted to take him someplace cool, but I was also feeling pretty hungover/lazy so I wanted to take him somewhere close and laid back. So Taco Spot here we come. It’s a small place with interesting decorations, a little bar and some small tables. It also has a separate take out counter. Good music, friendly service, a little bit of a hippy vibe. This place could even be a great date idea. Maybe not a first or second date but like after you’ve stopped overly trying to impress each other, or maybe a first date where you’re hedging your bets on whether or not they look like their online profile and don’t want to spend too much money. The tacos are small, pretty damn good and while I normally only get one and pair it with chips and queso, I’d suggest 2-3. I got a Chicken Chipotle Mexican street taco, 8 out of 10. In the past I was getting the original fish Taco, which was super good but then I found out it was catfish and for some reason that grosses me out because they are bottom feeders, I’m sorry if I just ruined this really good taco for you too. Brian, being a hot sauce connoisseur had some good things to say about their hot sauce selection. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really listening to him so I don’t have specific feedback. In conclusion, the Taco Spot lives up to its name and we’ll be back.
