Co is located downtown right on King Street. It’s a more modern version of the traditional Vietnamese Pho (beef or chicken soup) restaurant . Before moving to Charleston, I lived in a predominantly Vietnamese neighborhood of Boston, all the Pho restaurants were family owned, holes in the walls, delicious and cheap. So I’m all Pho snobby when I enter this establishment. I’m ready to judge awayyyy, however I was pleasantly surprised, while Co is not exactly the “right off the boat” experience, it is pretty damn close and its really good. Brian got the spicy pho and I got the original. They were both fresh and came with plenty of cilantro, lime and bean sprouts, AND they had Sapporro on tap. On a whole, I loved the place and we’ll be back again pho sho (I hate myself). My only complaint was the veggie spring rolls were kind of bla and its way more expensive than what I’m used to, but part of that is location, you are on King ST.
Yes I know the correct pronunciation is PhA. Bite me.
